ORIGAMI
BY:MARJORIE EVASCO
This word unfolds, gathers up wind
To speed the crane’s flight
North of my sun to you.
I am shaping this poem
Out of paper, folding
Distances between our seasons.
This poem is a crane.
When its wings unfold,
The paper will be pure and empty.
ORIGAMI
GROUP ANALIZATION
The poem origami by Marjorie Evasco is
poem for a loved one far away from each other and is on the state of having a
long distance relationship. The crane was used for it to be the messenger of
the message. In the poem, the crane is the instrument or key to express the
emotions toward each other which is the love and hope of their relationship.
Eventhough they are too far to each other. They still have the hope for their
relationship. The speed or motion of the instrument/ the messenger is same as
the speed of their hope for each other.
The line” distances between our seasons”
which means they are experiencing different seasons or they are on different
part of the world. The longing for each other seems to be near to each other.
The poem is probably some thoughts that they wants to be united even if they
are on separate points of the world. Even if they are far to each other, the
memory or the happiness towards each other will be kept. A love who still
hoping that their relationship will be last longer. Eventhough they are not living together but
their loyalty is still working.
In the poem it says that the message or
the crane itself is ready its fligh, ready to communicate the poems message
from the sender to the receiver which is the distant lover. The last line of
the poem accomplished its purpose to send the message, the love messages
towards each other. The moment of the messages arrives to the receiver it
addresses that the long distance love is still keeping in touch together.
